Connection to CDE Hangs [1]
Connection to CDE Hangs

I am trying tot connect to a Solaris 8 box from a win2K workstation. Everytime I initiate the connection it hangs, pre-login.
I read the FAQs that there should be some additional fonts installed on the server or create a font server but there are no instructions on how to do that. Any suggestions?

Before installing addtional fonts, please check the following:
- The Unix server is not located in the same subnet with your PC.
- Your PC has multiple IP addresses.
- Name server has an invalid name-to-ip or ip-to-name entry for your PC. Check the forward and reverse lookup tables.
It may be helpful to read the following files:
- /var/dt/Xerrors in Solaris.
- C:\Program Files\Xmanager1.3.9\Xmanager.log in Windows.
For addtional fonts, please try to install:
http://download.xmanager.com/files/fonts/solaris.exe
Depending on the language of the Solaris machine, you may need addtional fonts.
For further assistance, please attach the log files commented above.
