how can I login as root [1]

my server is sunos 9 on x86.
and I want to login as root on windows 98 through
x-manager.but occured the message can't login as root on remote console.
how can i do it?

To login as a root, you should do the following:

1. Open /etc/default/login with an editor.
2. Comment out the following line with a "#":
#CONSOLE=/dev/console
