Solaris CDE failure
Tuesday, December 4, 2001 8:33 PM - Dean
I get this error in my /vsar/dt/Xerrors file when trying to connect to a Solaris box:
error (pid 739): Hung in XOpenDisplay(deanb:0) attempt #0, aborting.
Any idea why?
Thanks

The error message says that the dtlogin process can't reach at your PC, deanb. Please try to ping your PC at the Solaris prompt.
1. Telnet to Solaris.
2. Run ping.
# ping deanb
The name, deanb might not be your PC name or a firewall exists in between your PC and Solaris.
Try to run an xterm using Xstart program instead of running CDE. That can give a clue on this problem.
