X-Manager on Citrix [1]

X-Manager on Citrix

Tuesday, November 27, 2001 5:21 PM - Fiacra Ryan

We are running X-Manager on a Citrix Server. All users logging onto the Citrix server are doing so with a common User ID and Password. When more than one person tries to logon onto X-Manager the application throws out an error to say it is already in use.

Does the application need to be installed locally to overcome this limitation or are there other ways around the limitation.

We are a 50 License user, so no problem there.

If Xmanager is installed in Citrix server, all Xmanager processes are running in the server and share the same TCP 6000 ports.

To run multiple Xmanager, the only method is running Xbrowser that can launch multiple Xmanager with different TCP ports. The Xbrowser program is provided with Xmanager and it supports mutliple XDMCP connections on every desktop.

Unfortunately Xstart program cannot be shared in multiple client machines. We are planning to support that feature in the near future.
