ADSL and NAT

Monday, November 12, 2001 8:43 PM - Chris Scott

Hello, My scenario is that i am connecting my win2000 machine to the internet via and adsl modem using NAT. Therefore the *modem* has the "real" IP address and my machine has a local only address. The machines i am trying to connect to is running aix 433.any ideas how i can achieve this?c.

In NAT environment, XDMCP connection doesn't work. Please try Xstart with SSH protocol.

If your AIX machine doesn't have an SSH server installed, you can try Xstart with TELNET protocol, but port forwarding is required on your NAT router.

For more information on SSH, please visit at:

The port forwarding rule is:

Incoming TCP 6000 on NAT --> TCP 6000 on your PC

We would appreciate your reply.
