Some registered broadcast hosts have disappeared [7]

I've been running Xmanager 1.3.9 for a while, with 4 hostnames registered in my XDM Broadcast. Each of the hosts is on the same subnet to eachother, but on a different subnet to my PC. Until recently, when I opened Xmanager, I would see all the registered hosts and was able to connect to all of them just fine.

About 2 weeks ago, all but one of the hosts disappeared off the broadcast list when I start up Xmanager (they all disappeared at the same time). I had not made any changes to my Xconfig settings when this occurred. I checked to make sure they were still in my registered hosts (they are), and that dtlogin is running on all of them (it is, one since before this issue arose, one was recently restarted when the server was bounced, and the third server's been up for 360 days, but the dtlogin was restarted about 2 weeks ago). I have viewed the /var/dt/Xerrors file, but am not sure what the messages mean.

I do not currently know if there is a firewall set up between my PC and the servers, although I suspect there is one. However, if something on that recently changed, I would think it would have caused an issue with all 4 hosts, not 3 of them. How do I determine if there is a firewall that is causing the problem? I can successfully telnet to the other servers, either from starting Xmanager to the one server which I can see in the broadcast, or through start-->run-->telnet.

I have tried making other changes in Xconfig on the XDM tab, but nothing has worked.

The problem might occur when the DNS configuration of your Windows has been changed. So that, the hostnames entered in the broadcast list cannot be mapped to correct IP addresses.

You could try to enter the IP address of the remote host in the broadcast list.

If the problem persists, please provide us with /var/dt/Xerrors file in the problem host.

Tried that already. It also didn't work. Therefore, here's the Xerror's file from one of the errant systems. It was last updated on 4/25/03. This might be the same date in which the host disappeared from the broadcast list, but I am not sure.

Well, I added it to the attachment field, but am trying again.

There is no useful information in the log file.
Please check the following:

1. The dtlogin process may have a problem and try to restart it.
$ /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -d
$ /usr/dt/bin/dtconfig -e

2. In the /usr/dt/config/Xaccess file, XDMCP query and broadcast query should be enabled to allow X terminals.

3. UDP port 177 should be open in the Unix.
The port shouldn't be blocked by any firewall or network configuration.

4. Your IP address is allocated correctly and there is no conflict with other systems in both subnets.

5. Reboot the Unix if nothing works.

This is an uncommon problem and we are not able to figure out the reason exactly. You had better to contact a Unix vendor near your office.

If you have not resolved this yet, please just check if your: /usr/dt/bin/dtlogin -daemon is running, if not start it up, and all will go back to normal.

That is running - I think our ASP has put up a firewall, so I'm checking into that.
