Running KDE directly via SSH? [2]
Running KDE directly via SSH?
Friday, February 7, 2003 11:16 AM - jay jefferson
Ok guys, you can disregard all my other emails for now. I think I might have figured out my previous issues. Here is what I have now. I can connect to my machine via SSH using the following command:
/usr/bin/X11/xterm -ls
This will, obviously, bring me to an xterm screen. Is it possible that instead of bringing me to that an xterm screen I can automatically load KDE like as if I were to type startx from the commandline... or at least something similar?
Thanks,
-j.

Just run "startkde" on the prompt of xterm.
Or else you can enter the following command in the Xstart.
/usr/bin/X11/xterm -ls & startkde &

Thank you! The first option worked great. I couldn't get the 2nd one working, but the first option does.
Thanks again. Now lets hope once I get back to work and off my internal LAN it'll work. :)
