paste from x to win [5]

paste from x to win

Thursday, July 25, 2002 12:31 AM - Ido Bourstein

I'm evaluating the Xmanager rev 1.3.9.

I'm having trouble to copy from the unix terminal
to windows 2000. I select the text and then try
to paste it to win application (wordpad for example)
but the buffer is empty.
The copy works fine from windows to the unix.
The copy also works fine within two different unix terminals.

I've checked on the options menu and auto cut&paste is active.

Please advise

Ido Bourstein.

Xmanager update is available

Friday, July 26, 2002 12:20 AM - Support

The problem was caused by an error in version 1.3.9.6.
A new update is available at:

http://download.conux.com/files/xm1396e7.exe

This version will fix the copy & paste problem from X to Windows.

Thanks

It's working !

One other question. I logged into my unix machine (called olive).
I need to rlogin to another station and display
a big waveform on this machine.

I did :

[olive]~> rlogin solo
Last login: Thu Jul 25 18:51:19 from olive
Sun Microsystems Inc. SunOS 5.8 Generic February 2000
[solo]~> setenv DISPLAY olive:0

Now when I start the graphical application (could be even VIM)
I get :

cannot open display

Please advise

Thanks

> setenv DISPLAY olive:0

This is not correct. The display number should indicate the PC name in which Xmanager is running. So, the command should be:

# setenv DISPLAY name_of_pc:0

or

# setenv DISPLAY ip_of_pc:0

We hope this can help you.
