Solaris CDE "Nobackdrop"

When I use Exceed Hummingbird with CDE / Solaris 8, I can set a workspace to use backdrop "NoBackdrop". With Hummingbird, this results in a transparent root window, so I can easily access the windows desktop, merely by switching to another CDE workspace. With XManager, on the other hand, "NoBackdrop" results in black root window.
Is it possible to achieve a transparant root window with XManager?

Please set the "Xconfig->Window->Background" option to "MS Windows". It will remove the black root window of Xmanager.
