DCOP error [2]
DCOP error

Hi all, I recently upgraded my linux box to RH7.3 with KDE3 installed (fresh installation). I can connect to it fine with Xmanager(on win2k) through XDMCP. But when I log on the server and try connecting it with Xmanager using the same usr login, I would run into problems. I can run kde apps just fine on the remote machine or the server when kde is up and running on both. But as soon as I open up an app on either machine, then the other gives some DCOP error when trying to open apps. One of the example errors is like this:
"KLauncher could not be reached via DCOP"
I didn't have any problems when I was using RH7.2 with KDE2, so this may be related to the new KDE3. I wonder if you have seen this kind of problem and know a fix for it.
Thanks.

Sorry for the late response.
There are lots of similar problems with KDE3. You can find it from any Internet search engine.
We are trying ot figure out the reason and will post the result soon.

Re: DCOP error - multi-user problem

At this time, we concluded that the KDE doesn't support multiple users. The problem occurs because the "/tmp/.ICE-unix/dcop999-????" file is deleted and updated when a new user logins.
This error should be fixed in the future version of KDE.
