Xmanager in win2000 connect to Solaris8 problem

Tuesday, October 22, 2002 4:26 PM - Koi Chen

Dear Sir,

There are some problems when I connect to Solaris8 by Xmanager.

It is run correctly when i used Xmanager in win98 to connect Solaris8.
However, if i used Xmanager in win2000 to connect Solaris8,the screen just only can see the cursor "X" and can not see the login screen. At the same time, the win2000 still can connected another Solaris6 by Xmanager correctly.

Here are the Solaris8 server /var/dt/Xerrors error messages.
dtlogin: received signal 11
dtlogin: received signal 11
dtlogin: received signal 11

Would you please kindly help to solve my problems,
I have no ideas for this.

Thanks!

-Koi

According to the log messages, the dtlogin process in the Solaris server resets unexpectedly. It means that the dtlogin or CDE login subsystem doesn't work properly.

First of all, check if the IP address of your PC is registered in /etc/hosts file correctly. A DNS misconfiguration might cause such a problem.

Also, try to reboot the Solaris server to clear intermittent login problems.

We hope this could help you.
