Multiple Monitors

I have just completed my first install and have a couple of interesting effects I don't know if I can overcome.

First, my client setup is a dual monitor setup where the primary monitor is a LCD panel and the secondary is a projector. I am pulling in an application from a Solaris environment.

The first item is that when the application is started, it always comes up on the secondary monitor. I have tried dragging the app to the primary monitor and quitting in case X-Manager saves location settings, but it doesn't seem to work. Is there a way to get items to open on a particular monitor?

The second item is probably more of a curiosity. When the app is run and comes up on the secondary monitor, it is entirely yellow and bright purple. If I drag it to the primary monitor, the colors are normal. I don't see this happen with any other local apps, so I assume this is an artifact of combining an x-server and a projector. I did go into xconfig and selected "Static Color" on the color tab and got something useable (although still not the original colors).

Thanks!

The initial position of X applications is determined by Windows, not by Xmanager. If this causes problems, we will consider to fix it in our future version. You can try to switch the position of primary and secondary monitors to solve it.

The color problem might occur when the color depth of primay and secondary monitors are not equal. For example, if the primary monitor is 16-bit and the secondary is 8-bit, the color in secondary monitor will be degraded. All Windows applications will have the same results, but Xmanager may be more critical in that. If the problem persists with other configurations, please try the following options:

- Default Visual: PseudoColor
- Backing Store: WhenMapped
