Sunday, October 6, 2002 8:00 AM - chev

i have a same problem here.
i did the port 6000 forwarding but still can't get thru the firewall,
it said XDMCP connection failed when i tried to connect to a server running Solaris 8 (Sun OS 5.8)
i have Linksys EtherFast Cable/DSL Router with 10/100 4-Port Switch
with Firmware version 1.42.7 (Apr 02 2002)
i'm using Win XP and have a static IP address.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem? thanks.

Xbrowser uses TCP ports from 6001. Please forward the TCP port 6001 of the router to the 6001 of your PC. And then, add a line in the "C:Program FilesXmanager1.3.9Xmanager.ini" file as following.:

[StartUp]
XdmcpConnectionAddress=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx

Here, xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx should be the IP address of the linksys router.

With this solution, you can only run one Xmanager instance at a time.

We hope this can help you.
