ANSI no longer working going from xshell 5 to 6

Tuesday, May 29, 2018 3:27 PM - Nigel

I installed xshell 6 and imported setting and now programs that use ansi display no longer print the correct characters. Nothing has changed on the server, everything is using UTF_8.

bbs@bbs:/sbbs/ctrl$ echo $LANG
en_US.UTF-8
bbs@bbs:/sbbs/ctrl$ echo $LC_ALL
en_US.UTF-8
bbs@bbs:/sbbs/ctrl$ echo $TERM
xterm

In xshell
File > Properties > Terminal has "Terminal Type" as xterm and "Encoding" is Unicode (UTF-8)

So...what have I missed or is this a bug?

Program Ver. : Xshell 6

Xshell's encoding can be changed after a session is established.

Please check if the encoding status of the current session is UTF-8 in Xshell's toolbar.

ANSI no longer working going from xshell 5 to 6

I checked back when I entered the post and it said UTF-8.

Strange, I've rebooted a few times since I wrote the email and it's actually working now, so not sure what happened. Very odd.

Oh well, thanks anyway.
