Xshell and Xftp: password lost after sync [2]

Xshell and Xftp: password lost after sync

Tuesday, February 13, 2018 1:23 PM - Carlo

Good morning

I have a problem that affect both Xshell and Xftp (both v. 5 and 6).

I have a number of Pc's and a NAS and some files are synchronized between all devices in my network (using Resilio Sync). I keep sync'ed NetSarang Sessions between devices too.

The problem is that with Xshell and Xftp all settings are correctly synchronized except passwords. This mean that every time I change device or work seat I must re-enter passwords.
This occurs with NetSarang programs only :-(

This is a feature or a bug?
I think is a feature, but this is very annoying for me...

Is there a way to prevent this?
Thank you very much

This is a feature. If someone got a hold of your session files, they'd have access to your servers. Which is a huge security issue.

However, this is the reason we included the Master Password feature. Set your Master Password under Tools on all your devices.

Now, any device with the same exact Master Password can share session files, including the session password. This is convenient for your scenario and also if you'd like to store your session files on the cloud to use on other devices.

Great!
Glad to know that using Master Password will solve.
Thank you very much!
