Xshell 6 - log file name [2]
Xshell 6 - log file name
Wednesday, May 9, 2018 2:13 AM - sinh
I am using Xshell since version 5 and recently upgraded to version 6.
The only problem that I found is all my log file have the name start with default.
eg : default_2018-05-09_11-46-37.log
In the setting Advance/Session Logging the file name format is
%n_%Y-%m-%d_%t.log
which %n should be the name of the device that I logged into.
I am using SSH/Telnet.
ssh device_name/IP
or
telnet device_name/IP
Program Ver. : Xshell 6

Me too.
I'm on the same boat. I just enter into this forum to see if I found the solution.
Is my only complaint of Xshell-6 so far.

The %n refers to a session file's name. A session from the Local Shell has the 'default profile' as its session properties.
Therefore, if you'd like to use a specific log name, you need to create session files or you need to start logging after the session starts.
However, I'll have this issue reported to our dev team for an internal review. Thanks!
