XShell Sessions and OneDrive.

Wednesday, April 22, 2015 2:51 AM - Alan Mackey

I have moved the XShell sessions folder to Onedrive, so I can keep updated my bookmarks between my computer at work and the one at my house. And it works almost flawlessly.

For some strange reason, the passwords are not "propagated" if I point XShell to the OneDrive sessions folder. But, if I just copy and paste the OneDrive sessions folder to the original location, it does work.

How can I keep an automated synced sessions folder?

Thanks in advance.

Program Ver. : Xshell 5

Password in Xshell session is encrypted using a key that is unique for each PC. That's why you are seeing this problem.

You can resolve this problem by using your the master password. Go to the Tools > Options > Security and enable the Master Password feature. Once this feature is enabled, your password will be encrypted using the unique master password you defined.

Make sure you turn on master password on both PCs. Otherwise, your passwords will be re-encrypted using the normal method.
