How do I map keys like CTRL-D to a Function key like F1? So that I can send the CTRL-D command 3B00:\0006 to a linux telnet session.

You can use keyboard map on the Standard toolbar to modify control-d action. Click on the Keyboard icon on the Standard toolbar. Add Control-D as new key combination, select Send String and then enter 3B00:\0006.
