When multiple telnet sessions are open, "q" characters are generated in the idle sessions.
For example,
R18>
R18>qqqqqqqqqqqqqqq

This is caused by keep alive feature. Some devices cannot interpret the keep alive signal and may display wrong characters on display. You can disable keep alive in session properties.
