It's because I have a very similar issue to Xshell Forum : i can039;t use x11 forwarding in xshell5.
I am using Windows 10 Pro x64, and Xshell 5 Build 0788 and I cannot get port forwarding to work, even with the suggestions in that other article.
If I switch back to my Windows 8.1 Pro x64 machine using Xshell 4 Build 0139 and the exact same port forwarding configuration, it works fine.
Xshell4 works fine for my needs.
Thanks!

Hi Dennis,
There were actually some port forwarding issues in previous builds, but they were addressed with the latest build. Can you please provide the following information regarding your port forwarding configuration so we can assist you further?
1. Type of Port Forwarding (Local, Remote, or Dynamic)?
2. IPv4 or IPv6?
3. Which OS are your connecting to?
Once we receive this information, we will try to resolve your issue. Thank you!
