Using Functions Keys

I have a unix app that accepts shift+F5 as one of its shortcuts. This key sequence works fine with putty and secureCrt. I could not get it to work with xshell. Hitting this key combo does nothing. I could not find anything in the option to customize or map keys.
Any ideas?
