Menu bar loses crispness [19]

Has anybody seen this issue, all of a sudden the menu bar is no longer crisply, fonts are not longer nice and crisp. I can open another instance of Xshell is it looks good. See attachment

This is a feature in Windows. It is called Cleartype and it makes characters more readable. You can disable this feature in Windows Display settings.

Clear type is disabled. As you can see from my screenshot, when i initially open Xshell it looks nice and crispy but after a while it becomes fuzzy. This happens on different computers too so i know it's something with Xshell.

This is not controlled by Xshell. Windows controls this. I think you would have the same issue with other applications as well. Please try disabling the font smoothing completely.

In System Properties > Performance Options > Visual Effects , it's set to Adjust for best performance, so everything is unselected (smooth edges of screen fonts, smooth-scroll ..etc)

3. Is there a way to duplicate the problem every time? If so, how can we duplicate the issue?

1) Windows 7 x64 Enterprise, English (US)
2) No other applications have this display issue
3) I am not sure of an easy way to duplicate this issues. Most often it happens when i RDP into my system and Xshell was already running. If i RDP into my system and open Xshell for the very first time, fonts look correct.

I have been able to consistently reproduce the issue. If i RDP to my machine, Xshell looks fine, when i come back to the office and login to the machine locally, Xshell menu and session bar become fuzzy.

We have successfully duplicate the issue. It is not certain whether this is a bug in Xshell or Windows but the issue has been reported and the developers will look at it.

I got excited when i saw that the latest update to Xshell 5.0 added an option for "Default Windows title bar and Frame", hoping that would fix the issue with menu bar losing crispiness. Unfortunatelly that did not do it. Is it still on your radar to address ?

Can you attach a screenshot of the problem? Xshell 5 might look different from Xshell 4. It will help us resolve this issue.

This does not happen to any other applications but Xshell. Previously you said you were able to reproduce this issue. So unless you fixed it in 5.0 why do you think it would behave any different now ?

Changing "experience" options does not do anything. I see where it's going, it's not impacting a lot of users so you have no interest in fixing the issue.

I will leave you with this last two data points:

1) my further testing has shown that this issue happens when using RDP and going from dual monitor RDP session to a single monitor RDP session ..and vice versa.

2) Let's say I use RDP on a single monitor, Xshell looks good. Then i go to another computer that has two monitors and I connect to the same RDP session, Xshell gets "fuzzy". Now if i open another Xshell instance, the "fuzzy" instance fixes itself, text in menu bars becomes nice an focused again.

Just by looking at your attached images, it looks like one Xshell has Cleartype enabled and the other one off. I would not call this fuzzy because they look better on most monitors.

If you think text on Xshell look fuzzy you might not be using the recommended resolution for your monitors. If you go to the monitor resolution settings and in the resolution list, you can see what is recommended for your monitor. If you are not using the recommended resolution, text with Cleartype might not be displayed correctly. If you are not using the recommended resolution, it will look fuzzy on the screen but when you take a screenshot, it will look perfectly fine on other monitors.
