Caps Lock for Gnome Applications [1]

Caps Lock for Gnome Applications

Friday, September 10, 2004 8:28 AM - Mike

I am still having problems getting Caps Lock key to work for Gnome applications, e.g., Glade, GnuEdit, GnuCash.

For KDE, Mozilla and Netscape there is no problem, as the Caps Lock works fine for those non-Gnome applications.

Caps Lock works fine for all applications if I am working directly on the Linux server machine (RH 9) but does not work for Gnome apps if I am on Xmanager 1.3.9.

Any ideas would be welcome.

We found that the problem occurs only in the Gnome applications on RH 9.0 with English or European languages. The problem occured in other PC X server products as well as Xmanager.

We think the Gnome package on RH 9 has a key binding error with specific languages, remote X servers.

Unfortunately we have no solution to the problem at this time. We will post a reply as soon as we get a solution.
