The connection problem occurs due to the firewall settings on your Linux.
Please refer to FAQ #2, #5, and #12 at:
/products/xmg_faq.html
If the problem persists, provide us with the following:
- C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\NetSarang\Xmanager\2\Log\*.log
- The IP addresses of both Windows and RedHat 9.0

But my win2kpro can connect to the physical RedHat9.0 by Xmanage, not the one on vmware.
Whether I should run some services except the XDMCP, for example Telnet service?

Hi,
There are several type of networking on VMware. Usually bridged networking or NAT networking are used.
If the redhat90 system is using NAT on VMware it is difficult to connect into the system with Xmanager.
Briged networking is a easy way to use Xmanager and to use any other network programs.
You can edit the networking type of the virtual os.
I hope this can help you.

According to the log messages, Xmanager cannot get a reply from the remote "gdm" process.
Please check if there is a display manager (gdm or kdm) is running on the redhat server.
The problem might also occur due to a firewall setting in the redhat server. The redhat server should allow UDP 177 connections. You may try to stop the firewall as following:
# service iptables stop
Hope this helps you.
