XBrowser not connecting [3]
XBrowser not connecting
Thursday, July 22, 2004 12:13 AM - August G. Stoll
I am trying to connect to my HP-UX 11i Version 1 machine using XBrowser. Sometimes it works fine, and other times I get a message, "XDMCP connection failed. Try again?" with a Yes/No option. What causes this message? How can I fix it?
Thanks.
Thanks.

It might be caused by an error of DNS, so please add the IP of your PC into /etc/hosts.
Hope this helps you.

Hi,
We use DHCP on campus, so I don't have an IP address assigned to my PC. I can get it to attach using the Windows 2000 computer in my office, but I have to go through XStart, and it's quite convoluted. My laptop is XPPro, and it just hangs, even when I try to use XStart. Is there documentation that comes with this software?

Please try to turn off the firewall configuration on your WinXP. Xmanager is a server software and it listens TCP ports 6000 ~ 6010.
For documentation, please read Xmanager Help. You can open it by clicking Contents and Index in the Help menu of Xbrowser. Open the Help system and refer to "Establishing Connections->Configuring firewall".
Hope this helps you.
