XDMCP connection failed
Tuesday, January 20, 2004 8:10 AM - Raj
Hi,
I am trying to connect to systems in my school running on UNIX. I am trying to connect from a laptop using wireless LAN. I tried browsing thru the help pages and also this forum.
However, I could not find a solution. Could someone throw some light on this?
Thanks
Raj

Please read Xmanager FAQ #1 ~ #4 at:
/products/xmg_faq.html
You may experience such a problem when:
- The Unix server is not located in the same subnet with your PC.
- Your PC has multiple IP addresses.
- Name server has an invalid name-to-ip or ip-to-name entry for your PC. Check the forward and reverse lookup tables.
- See the /var/dt/Xerrors file for more detailed information.
If the problem persists, please let us know more information about:
- The steps you followed to connect to the server.
- Any error messages.
- Unix vendor and version.
- Network configuration. (Local Lan, firewall, private network ...)
