Using XManager over VPN [1]
Using XManager over VPN
Sunday, March 21, 2004 6:12 AM - Roz
Hello, all. From my Win2000 laptop, I'm using XManager to access/run an application on a Sun Solaris. I'm accessing the application over my companny VPN. I first connect to my ISP.
However, to redirect the DISPLAY to my laptop, how can I use XManager to work over a VPN? XManager works perfectly when plugged directly into my company network.
Hope this makes sense.
Thanks
Roz

I don't have the VPN setup like yours, but got a quick question. Can your laptop 'ping' to the remote server using a virtual private IP obtained from the VPN server? How about the other way? I think that a correct VPN setup provides the client the same network environment as it is directly connected to the LAN.
