Dear!

I have the error message following as and did not work the Xwindow on remote PC.

My system was workinf well the FTP program(Proftpd 1.2.9)

Configuration of my system : (South Korea)

1. server PC.
OS : redhot 9.0
HW : AMD 2500+(baton)
ASUS A7N8X nForce2 Ultra400
LAN: VDSL and IP share
ISP : WWW.DYNDNS.ORG

2. Remote PC.(Xmanager 1.3.9)
OS: WIN2000 SP4
HW:AMD 1700+
ASUS A7V8X
LAN: ADSL (KT)

Error Message:

Fatal server error:
PAM authentication failed, cannot start X server.

giving up.

Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console

Please could let me know "WHY not work the X-window on Xmanager 1.3.9 of remote PC?"

Dear IB Kim,

The command "startx" is only running under the console mode, which means that you can only run it from the Unix/Linux server directly. To run an X Window environment such as KDE or Gnome using Xmanager, you should use commands like "startkde" or "gnome-session".
