Xmanager and Windows XP [3]

Xmanager and Windows XP

Thursday, March 9, 2006 5:05 AM - Diane

I'm connecting to a RHEL ES ver. 3.0 server from my Windows XP via Xstart. The window opens just fine and I can do everything I need to do but when I try to minimize the window, the toolbar stays at the bottom of my XP desktop environment and the X window is minimized. How do I get the toolbar to minimize as part of the Xstart window?

This problem may occur when the window manager conflicts with the menu bar. Please tell us the name and version of the application.

Also, try using remote only for window manager. To do this, please follow the instruction below:
1. Open Xconfig.
2. Double-click on Default Profile.
RESULT: Default Profile Properties dialog box opens up.
3. Select Auto detect in the Window Mode area.
4. Click Settings.
RESULT: Window Mode Settings dialog box opens up.
5. Click the Multiple Window Mode tab.
6. Select Remote only for Window Manager.
7. Click OK.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

The name of the product I'm using? It's an eval of XManager 2.0, Xstart. I'm running it on a Windows XP PC. I'm not running any applications. I'm just trying to get the thing opened so I can move it around on my desktop.

I figured it out. No need to reply.

Thanks.
