Sudden Disconnection [13]

Sudden Disconnection

Tuesday, April 13, 2004 6:13 PM - AC

Dear Experts,

I experienced sudden disconnection from the
Xmanager 1.3.9 client many times since last Friday. Even I reinstall the Xmanager 1.3.9 or install the Xmanager 2.0 beta, the same problems still happen.
I found the following in the error log file :
HandlePropertyNotify: _XA_XMGR_SELECTION received
HandlePropertyNotify: property state 1, NewValue 0
WSAAsyncSelect() on fd 11 failed, event: 33, error: 10038
setAsyncSelect: fd 11 is not found.
XdmcpFill: too few bytes(-1) received
SocketINETAccept: accept() failed, errno: 10035
Xdmcp: Control client is closed and the entire session is closed.
All clients are closed down. Going to server reset...

Exiting the waiting loop ...

Would you please help to resolve this problem.
Thank you in advance!

AC

The error messages say that the network connection is not stable and the xdm process on the remote host is disconnected suddenly.

Please check the following:

- The xdm (gdm, kdm or dtlogin) process doesn't work properly. Restart it if possible.
- The remote host doesn't have enough system resources (memory, swap or disk).
- Too many process on the remote host.
- Some applications on Windows interfere with Xmanager.
- Physical network is unstable. Try to do ping test.

If the problem persists, let us know more information on your Unix box and network configuration.

Your log file shows that Xmanager ended normally without error. These are the possible causes for your sudden disconnection:
  1. Unstable network connection may cause this kind of problem. See if there is any packet loss. To do this, try pinging from your PC to server.

  2. Your application may be abnormally terminating. To check this, run the application from console.
If there is no packet loss and the application runs normally on console, please include the following information in your next posting:
  1. Vendor/version of the remote host.
  2. Name of the application
Hope this fixes your problem.

Because there is so little information, it is really hard to guess what your problem is. Please be more specific on explaining your problem.

Firstly, try creating a new user account and see if it still disconnects.

If your problem still occurs in the freshly created account, try the followings:

- Try restarting the dtlogin.
- See if your system has enough resources (memory, swap or disk).

If your problem persists, explain at what point the connection closes. If it closes while you are using a specific application, you should include the name of that application as well.

Peace!

Please make sure that IP address of your PC is 138.203.29.34. If it is not your IP address, your server may be configured to manually assign the DISPLAY variable. Please configure your server, so it does not manually assign the DISPLAY variable.

If your problem persists, please send us the following information:

1. Xmanager log file. You can find it in the following directory:
C:\Document and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\NetSarang\Xmanager\2\Log\*.log
2. Please explain what you mean by "Sudden Disconnection."

Your precise explanation is vital for providing accurate answer. Please be as specific as possible.

We hope to resolve this problem quickly.

Hi,

I mean by "Sudden disconnection" that when I try to open x-window by using x-browser , I am just typing IP address and pressing Enter. One Window comes up but suddenly disappearing may be less than 1 sec. I hope I explained it at this time.

Here is the log file attached that I already sent error messages to you from this logs.

Thank You ,

Best Regards.

Sun Control Client is somehow closing the session unexpectedly. Please try checking the following option:

1. Start Xconfig.
2. First right click on the XDMCP sample profile, and then select ¿Set as Default XDMCP profile.¿
3. Right click on the XDMCP sample profile and select Properties.
RESULT: XDMCP Sample Properties dialog box opens up.
4. Select Single Window Mode from Window Mode.
5. Select Terminate at Reset from Options.
6. Click OK to save the changes.

Now, open Xbrowser and type in the IP address of your server in the Address bar.

If your problem persists, please send us the following information:

1. Create a new account and see if you can login to that account.
2. Xmanager log file of the computer that can connect to the server, and make sure that you are using the same account.

We hope to fix this problem as soon as possible.

We are sorry that a solution for this problem could not be addressed quickly.

Here is some basic knowledge for this problem:

1. This problem may occur when the user account is corrupted. In this case, you should check if other accounts are accessible. If you can access to other accounts, then you should try recreating your account.

2. Outdated Ethernet driver or unstable network connection may cause this problem as well. This case, you should update your driver.

If there is anything else you need, please let us know.
