Thursday, March 5, 2015 9:58 PM - Alex

Sometimes keyboard input focus dont syncronized with active tab selection.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start XShell
2. Open button
3. select several connections from Sessions dialog by Ctrl+mouse
4. Connect button
5. several connections tabs created, but keyboard input focus stay in first tab, while we see last active tab. So when we type something on keyboard, we see nothing reaction. When we click on first Tab - we see our entered text.

I think this issue has been resolved in the latest release. Can you try updating your Xshell copy by selecting Check for Updates in the Help menu?

This bug was fixed in the latest release (build 0553). Can you try restarting your PC?

Also, please try reinstalling Xshell after uninstalling it.

I am sorry, but my words about problem fixed was wrong.
I see this bug (described in first message) average several times every day.

Can anybody reproduce this, or problem on my side?
I use latest Xshell 5 (Build 0556) with cisco devices.

What is the Windows version you are using? It seems like this problem persists in Windows XP machines.

Keyboard focus bug?

Thursday, April 16, 2015 11:00 PM - Alex

I am using Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Problem fixed in Build 0579 by changing TABs creation behaviuor.
Now 2nd, 3rd, etc TABs opens in background.
So active TAB not changed. So keyboard focus in active TAB remains on screen.

Thank Netsarang, brilliant software!

We had to change the Tab behavior in the latest release to improve performance. Many users have commented that opening new tabs is a bit slow and while the new tabs are being open Xshell becomes unresponsive. We had to change how the new tabs are open so that users can still interact with Xshell while tabs are being open.

Your feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Hello,

I think this bug came back in build 0940 and 0946.
I tried to rollback to build 0469 (I only have this installation file.), then the problem was gone.

My another computer running build 0896 seems to be nomal.

Both of my mathine running Win10 10586 with latest update.

This is an intended action in multiple process mode. In multiple process mode, sessions open slower than in single process mode and users were able to do nothing until all sessions were open. Now when the focus is on the first tab of multiple selected sessions, users can do jobs in the terminal.

On the other hand, in single process mode, tabs open faster. So we left the focus rule as is. Currently, Xshell in single-process mode should function as you want it to.
