Hi there,

"i am unable to open any display(CDE)usong xbrowser but i can telnet, ssh and ftp via putty."

Sounds like there is no problem from your PC connecting to your server. However, the other ways? Is your PC connectiable from your server? TCP 6000~6010 should be connectiable!

Cheers~

When i try to connect via Xmanager it fails and at the end it gives "XDMCP failed.....". i am unable to understand the problem also when i run any display command e.g .../xclock/ it says that "can't open display".
waiting for your response... thanks

Again, I am pretty sure that this is because your Solaris machine cannot connect back to your PC. And more specifically, this is because your VPN may block connections from the Solaris to your PC or your PC's IP address may not be in the range of where the Solaris can reach. To know what is really going on, talk to your VPN admin. You might want to use the network tool such as "ping" for testing if the Solaris can reach to your PC.
