Display size change and Xmanager

I am a lucky user to have a 24" monitor 1920x1200 at work, but, obviously, at home, the screen is smaller.
When I start Xmanager from my home using Remote Desktop connection, Xmanager remebers the screen size of my home display. When I come into office, the X sessions/windows try hard to stay within the smaller size.
In other word, Xmanager does not notice the screen size change, and I have to restart Xmanager to use the full screen.
Obviously, I'm using root-less window.
Xmanager 2.0 build 0750.

When the X server (such as Xmanager) is started, it sets the X root window size (where X clients can be displayed inside) to the current desktop size. Once the X root window size is set, its size cannot be changed in X Window System Protocol. If you would like to use the full screen size for your X applications, you must start the X server from your current desktop.
FYI, if you use Single Window Mode in Xmanager, you can customize the X root window size to your desired size irrespective of the screen resolution.
Hope this helps.

Thank you for the reply.
I'd like to request a preference for the size of root window of rootless in the config.
(So, I can set it to the largest size.)
I may need a small application to talk to the window manager to move/resize the existing window when one is completely outside of viewable area while the screen is smaller, but, at least, I can use whole desktop after the display size changes, and thus I don't need to restart Xmanager when I come in to office.
Thanks again for a great product, Xmanager.

At this time, Xmanager does not support the rootless window mode. However, we will consider providing this feature in the future.
Thank you for using Xmanager.

Re: changing your remote desktop size

Hey, how about changing your remote desktop size to 1920x1200 at your home? If you are interested, here is the way you do it. First, create a remote desktop connection and save the profile with an .rdp extension. Then, open it in notepad and change the first few lines like this:
screen mode id:i:1
desktopwidth:i:1920
desktopheight:i:1200
session bpp:i:16
winposstr:s:0,3,0,0,1920,1200
And save it and run it! You like that? ;-)
