Slow response in an X session [2]

Using Xmanager, I could get a login box for my RedHat 9 enterprise server. I could login successfully and get the desktop. However, everything is going very slowly. e.g. I had to wait a few seconds to get the user login box, and it took about 30 secs to load the desk top.
Any help is much appreciated.

GNOME or KDE on Xmanager may run slower than the ones operating on console.

Upgrading the performance of Linux machine and increasing the network bandwidth will speed up their processing on Xmanager. Also, check the availablility in the CPU and memory of your PC for Xmanager to be run smoothly.

In addition, try removing all the font server registered in the font list of your Xconfig profile.
