SuSE Linux 9.0: gnome-panel hangs on logout
Thursday, June 30, 2005 6:59 PM - Lorand Bruhacs
Hello,
I am using Xmanager 2.0 (build 0203) to access a server running SuSE Linux 9.0 with Gnome 2.2.2. When terminating a Gnome session using the "Logout" button on gnome-panel, the panel hangs for several minutes. This mystifying issue only occurs when using Xmanager, the logout for local desktop sessions works fine.
I've updated to the most recent SuSE 9.0 RPM version for gnome panel (-65) but that doesn't fix the problem. Another attempted fix was to delete the ~/.gnome* and ~/.gconf directories, which unfortunately did not resolve the issue.
Could this be an Xmanager issue?
Best Regards,
Lorand Bruhacs

Try to open TCP 16001 on your Windows firewall. The logout window tries to connect to this port.
