xManager/CDE closes immediately after authentication

Wednesday, December 10, 2008 12:09 PM - tc

I'm using Xmanager on my windows desktop to connect remotely to Solaris CDE. xManager closes immediately after authentication with the Sun system. xManager does receive the XDMCP response from the Sun server, and is prompted for username and password. Invalid passwords are responded to with an appropriate message (Incorrect login; Please try again), but valid passwords cause xManager to close the window immediately.

This problem started after I installed some Solaris security patches. The interesting thing is I can connect to the server using Cygwin/X. Also, I can connect to other servers (not patched) using Xmanager.

I appreciate any help you can provide.

Program Ver. : Xmanager 3.0
Connection Method : XDMCP connection

It is a bug in Solaris patch 112960-62 (Solaris 9). It had issues with dtlogin per bugid 6750206.
