Xmanager3 Feedback
Friday, January 4, 2008 4:43 AM - Bart Brashers
Long-time user of Xmanager2, just installed Xmanager3beta on WinXP, connecting to CentOS (Rocks) Linux box. Install went well, works great. Fixed some of the old tcl problems (Portland Group debugger pgdbg not managed by any window manager; PAVE windows not repainting) that I had under Xmanager2.
Suggestion for installer: import (translate) Xmanager2's *.xss files into Xmanager3's *.xcas format. I use Xstart with ssh keys to start xterms on the Linux box, saved as *.xss files, with links on my desktop or Quick Launch bar. It would be great if the Xmanager3 installer would copy the settings and make a new *.xcas for each of those.
Also, what's with the space? It was (for example) C:\Program Files\Netsarang\Xmanager2, but now the default is to put a space between "Xmanager" and "3". Why change? Why not stay consistent?

Thank you for your suggestion.
To import Xstart sessions,
1. Open Xbrowser and click Files, and then Import.
2. Select Xstart sessions from the list.
3. In Xbrowser, select all Xstart sessions.
4. Right click on the session, and click Create Shortcut.
This will create the Desktop shortcuts of Xstart sessions of Xmanager 3.
Also, by default, software installation directory follows the name of the product. This is why we have made the appropriate changes to this version. Hope you understand.
Please enjoy using Xmanager!
