Can not connect

Thursday, September 10, 2009 2:34 PM - Andre Bunting

I am trying to connect to my CENTOS box from a windows 7PC..

I have followed the instructions closely and no luck..

I have even followed the post here about editing the /etc/sysconfig/desktop file... and still no luck.. I have attached my LOG file..

Please note that i am a different different subnet.
The ips of my Machine are 192.168.10.113/103 (dual nic pc) and the Centos box is 10.0.0.6 . I can ssh into the centos box as well as browse its web service.

The firewall on both machines have been configured to allow traffic flow between the both on the required ports.

Can someone please tell me whats wrong ?

Program Ver. : Xmanager 3.0
Connection Method : XDMCP connection
Attachment X0.log (3.8 KB)

As the log file shows, your server could not make a connection back to your PC. This problem may occur when there is gateway or router between the PC and the server.

Xdmcp: Timed out, state 3. Retransmissions: 0
Xdmcp: sent a QUERY message.
Xdmcp: received a WILLING message.
Xdmcp Request Address: 10.0.0.6
Xdmcp Connection Address 0: 192.168.10.110
Xdmcp Connection Address 1: 192.168.10.103
Xdmcp: sent a REQUEST message.
Xdmcp: received an ACCEPT message.
Xdmcp: sent a MANAGE message.
Xdmcp: Timed out, state 8. Retransmissions: 0

To solve this problem, we recommend you try using Xstart and SSH. You can start Gnome desktop from Xstart. Please follow the instruction in the page below:
