java application freezes
Tuesday, April 14, 2009 3:00 PM - Dennis R
We are trying to use your xstart for a solaris 10 java application but it freezes after launching. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
Note: We are currently using the Hummingbird Exceed x-server but would like to convert to your product instead. This java application works fine with Hummingbird.
Dennis
Program Ver. : Xmanager 3.0
Connection Method : Xstart connection

We will be happy to assist you with the problem.
First, to find out if the window manager is causing the problem, try using the remote window manager such as twm or mwm and see if the problem persists. To do this, first, open xterm with Xstart and then, use 'twm &' or 'mwm &' to start the remote window manager. Once the window manager is started, launch the Java application normally. This will open the Java application with remote window manager.
If the problem persists, please send us the following information:
1. Name/version of the Java application
2. Version of JVM on the remote host
3. Name/version of the remote host
Thank you for your cooperation.

The java application works fine using "remote only" window manager setting but the frame and graphics are worse than using local only. Can it be made to work with local only?
xstart>advanced>x-server>configure>general>settings>multiple window mode>window manager>remote only
Thanks,
Dennis

This problem is usually caused by the remote Java application. Can you tell us the name and version of the Java application and we will duplicate
the problem from our end?
