I also experience sudden disconnection and no I am not in idle state.
I have used before a different Xwindows software and this had not been happening.
Can you think of possible cause of that?

I do connect thought VPN to Unix box with Solaris system.

Program Ver. : Xmanager 3.0
Connection Method : XDMCP connection

Sorry for the late response.

Basically, Xmanager terminates when all X connections are closed. If your network has no problem, we can find some hints from Xmanager log files.

Could you please send us Xmanager log files?

To find the Xmanager log folder:

1. Right click on Xmanager icon in task bar.
2. Click Log->Folder.
3. After a sudden disconnection, send us all *.log files.

Thanks for your cooperation.

if I start new Xmanager session, would that not overwrite last log?
Where in the system can I get a log, without starting Xmanager? S, so you can get a log from that disconnect and not from new session

Xmanager log file locations can be found in the following FAQ. Please go to the Xmanager log folder directly without starting Xmanager.

*Please retreive the log file after Xmanager exits abruptly.

The log shows that Xmanager has exited normally and the connection was closed by the remote side.

This problem may occur when the remote server is configured to close connections when it is left idle for certain time period. Also, firewall, gateway or VPN can do this too.

Please check with your network administrator about the problem.
