Limitation of items for Quick Commands? [5]

Limitation of items for Quick Commands?

Friday, June 10, 2011 6:16 AM - Jesse Peden

I have used XShell 3.x for quite a while now, and I have a set of Quick Commands that have roughly 20+ items in it. When I installed XShell 4.0 and imported my Quick Commands it only imports a small portion of the items. Also, I noticed that when I try to manually create more items in a Quick Command set I get a message about already having the maximum number of items allowed. Is there some way to override this limitation or am I just going to have to use XShell 3.x since it works better (at least for what I do) and doesn't have these limitations?

Program Ver. : Xshell 4

Thank you for your feedback. Xshell 3.0 didn't have keyboard shortcut feature for the Quick Command buttons. We were hoping increase productivity by introducing this feature in version 4. However, we agree that there is room for improvements. We will try to incorporate your ideas in the future editions.

I'm not sure what keyboard assignments have to do with what I said about XShell 4.x supporting more quick command entries, but I really hope you guys give XShell 4.x the capability to have an unlimited number of quick commands like XShell 3.x had. Without that feature it would be counterproductive for me to upgrade to the 4.x versions.

We will make a note of it.

Some users prefer having less quick buttons in each group and assigning shortcut keys to quick buttons. Some prefer having more quick buttons in a group. Assigning shortcut key feature was not included in Xshell 3.0. We will try to incorporate your idea (having more quick buttons in each Quick Button Set) in the future.

Along the same topic, since I can't find any instructions on how to do this, how do you assign keyboard shortcuts to individual quick commands in XShell 4.x? I'm giving it another shot so if you can tell me how to use that feature that you say 4.x has (and 3.x didn't) I'd appreciate it.

Note: I've seen the custom keyboard mapping window and you can do a lot of things there but mapping a key to a quick command is not an option in that window.

You cannot map Quick Command key in Keymap. I will forward this as a new feature request.
