Could you tell us what you are trying to do with Xshell? I don't understand what you mean by "How put the hosts of machines".

In fact, I want use the hostname of each machines for ssh connexion and not IP

Hostname and IP address are both accepted in Xshell. Are you having problem connecting to SSH server with hostname?

Could you tell us how we can duplicate the problem?

if i type :

ssh username@server1 and server1 is not configured in properties it doesn't work !

I want put my hosts file in the Xshell configuration.
My hosts file is in /windows/system32/drivers/ but xshell don't resolv the hostname with the IP.

for example :
Xshell:\> ping server2
Ping request could not find host server2. Please check the name and try again.
Xshell:\>
I'd like to type directly the hostname without IP.

If you entered the host in /etc/hosts file, it should be resolved in Xshell. Xshell does not resovle name by itself. Instead it requests to Windows. So, try doing ping from Window cmd window. I don't think ping will work in the CMD window.

If ping does not work in the CMD window, then you have to find the cause in Windows. Windows not resolving names in the /etc/hosts file properly.

If the problem persists, please attach your hosts file.
