Thursday, November 3, 2011 11:35 PM - wuzhe

Hi, how could I start log session every time when I open a session, and use session_name + date as log file name.

I try to use script to get this, but got failed.

Thanks.

Program Ver. : Xshell 4

To automatically start logging when session starts, open session properties and go to Advanced > Logging. Select the "Start logging upon connection" option. And then, from the Log File section, select the "Use the following file" option. For filename, use "%n_%d"

Thanks. And another question: is there a place can set for all sessions. I mean, is there a place maybe called session's default settings. When create a new session, the default settings take effect, and no need to do any settings more.

Click on the small down arrow button next to the Properties button on toolbar and select Default Session. It will open the Default session properties dialog box. Once you save the information here, it will be applied to the new sessions.
