I'm using a qwertz keyboard layout and enter chars like []{}| with altgr+w,g,h. I can still enter them with a ctrl+alt combination if i remove the shortcut key bindings, but it's mildly annoying.

We tried to reproduce the problem you are seeing, but we were unsuccessful. Try checking the Meta key option in your session file.
Session Properties => Terminal => Keyboard : Meta key emulation
If the problem persists, please provide the following information:
1. Your Windows version.
2. The language and keyboard you're using.
