Dear,
I need to use taipei16.pcf.Z,taipei20.pcf.Z,taipei24.pcf.Z in my Xstart(Xterm) terminal to show Chinese,so I download the taipeifonts form http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/search.php?query=taipeifonts(for Linux OS),and installed taipeifonts in Xmanager3 on my windows XP PC.
I open Xmanager3 -> Xconfig -> Font -> Add Directory, point it and move up this font to top on the list.Unfortunately,I never see the chinese characters in my Xstart(Xterm) terminal. what should I do next? Thans a lot!
Program Ver. : Xmanager 3.0
Connect Method : Xstart connection

Those font sets do not contain Latin fonts. So, they cannot properly display English characters on xterm.
Try using 'gnome-terminal' instead. To launch a gnome-terminal with Chinese character support, use the following command:
gnome-terminal -fn "-font -taipei-fixed-medium-r-normal--16-160-75-75-c-160-big5-0"
