Session disconnected
Wednesday, August 21, 2013 8:43 PM - Merk
Good day,
My session was being weird after few minutes of idle time, the background was black and the remaining GUIs were unclickable.
May I ask what are the possible causes for this problem?
Thank you very much
Program Ver. : Xmanager 4
Connect Method : XDMCP connection

This may happen if the network is unstable. Please make sure there is no firewall or router that blocks connection when left idle for awhile. This can prevent Xmanager from working properly.
To further analyze the problem, please send us the following information:
1. What is the name and version of the X application you are using with Xmanager?
2. Screenshot of the problem
3. Xmanager log. Right click on Xmanager title bar after the problem happens and then, select Log > File.

Thank you for your immediate response,
But how can we check if there is no firewall that blocks the connection?
Here are the informations:
1. Xbrowser and/or XManager - broadcast
2. Unfortunately, I cannot provide a screenshot. But this time the GUIs disappear.
3. The remote OS of this session is RHEL. Please see attached file.
Thanks again,

I checked the log file and it looks like your host and PC are located within the same network. Then, this is probably not a firewall or router issue.
But, the log file does not indicates what is happening with your connection.
I would recommend you to check out the application log file and the system log file on RedHat.
Also, try logging in as a different user. Preferably use an account with root privilege to check if this is a permission related issue.
