You have to first understand the difference between X Server and terminal emulator.

X server is a software that enables running graphic applications. Xmanager is a PC X server. It allows displaying the remote UNIX and Linux based graphical software on Windows desktops.

Terminal emulator is a software that you can use to access the text based system via various connection protocols such as SSH and Telnet. WinSCP is terminal emulator. Also, WinSCP is a FTP/SFTP file transfer client but this is probably not what you are using it for.

You can use Xmanager to run graphical software that is installed on the remote Linux or UNIX based servers on Windows machines. To help you understand how you can do this, please read the following articles:

Xshell is a WinSCP alternative. Xmanager and Xshell are both developed by us to they work together beautifully.
