Suggestion: Combine xshell + xftp tabs [3]

Suggestion: Combine xshell + xftp tabs

Sunday, April 28, 2013 6:15 PM - Erwin

Hi, I started to use xshell + xftp vs putty + winscp some weeks ago and it seems very possible to add an xftp tab mixed with xshell tabs due your design of the application.

Imagine something like the attachment, where the user is able to drag files to the console to 'type' the path or execute contextual commands like WinSCP custom commands on an specific opened terminal. Or maybe even undock the terminal tab much like a modern browser replacing netsarang xbrowser with something more powerful.

Program Ver. : Xshell 4

I also would love this feature!

Many times I am in a shell and need to upload a file. It would be amazing to open a new tab in XFTP to the current path, or even drag and drop into the current window...

Please consider this!! My dream will be to replace filezilla and putty with Xsheel and xftp!!

Thank you for your feedback. We are considering the option of using Xshell and Xftp tabs interchangeably. There are many things to be considered such as shared toolbar and features that are only used in one program and not the other. So, it is being debated within our development team.

Xshell and Xftp already works in harmony. For example, if you are in a folder in Xshell and click the Xftp button on the Xshell toolbar, Xshell passes the current path to Xftp and the folder is open automatically.

Please refer to the following article for detail:
