CTRL and arrow keys [1]

CTRL and arrow keys

Hi,

I am trialling Xshell4 and I think it's potentially going to be deployed in our business, but the network admins are complaining that certain key combinations do not work when connected to remote servers (BASH via SSH).

For example, CTRL + LEFT normally takes you to the start of the previous word, and CTRL + RIGHT takes you forward a word, but in Xshell these keys do nothing. Consequently if you have a really long, multi-piped command and you need to edit the middle of it, you have to press & hold the left key and wait while the cursor gets to the middle, which is very tedious.

I have tried changing the terminal settings but to no avail.

Can anyone shed some light on this problem, or indicate if it's going to be fixed?

Thanks
Matt

Program Ver. : Xshell 4

By default, Ctrl+Left/Right is not supported in Bash. But, it can be manually configure to jump between words. However, this is not supported in Xshell yet. I have requested to add this feture. Thank you for using Xshell.
