Tunneling HTTP and HTTPS over port 8080 [2]
Tunneling HTTP and HTTPS over port 8080
Tuesday, January 20, 2004 2:07 AM - Chris Parker
I have used Xshell to successfully tunnel to things like VNC servers, but I cannot seem to tunnel to a web server on our intranet using Xshell -- I can tunnel to the web server OK using PuTTY and access it using http://localhost:8080, but the same tunnel configuration in Xshell does not work -- it just returns the standard "page not found" instead of the ID/Password authentication pop-up. The web server is on port 8080 -- is there something I'm missing that is keeping this from working in Xshell?

We have found a small problem in port forwarding channel. It will be fixed and we will post a solution in the next week.
